Born in El Paso, Texas, Robert Sanábria, MFA, the University of Maryland, has completed more than 25 major commissions for municipal, commercial and private collectors around the country. Among these is a 20-foot stainless steel fountain sculpture in Lexington Mall, KY; four monumental concrete works, two in Philadelphia, PA, and one each in Prince George's County,MD and Bolling Green, VA; a nine-foot-long cast paper relief sculpture for the Richmond, VA, Convention Center; five copper and bronze sculptures for a synagogue and congregation center in Frederick, MD; and one for a synagogue in Silver Spring, MD; seven copper and bronze fountain sculptures for gardens in Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, Oregon, Virginia, Washington, DC, and one for a hospital in MD.
His works are included in the permanent collections of 15 museums,
universities, or other public spaces, as well as in numerous corporate and
private collections in the US and Europe.
